Sergeant First Class Alexander Stewart’s life changed forever after witnessing the aftermath of 9/11 just outside his New York community. Inspired to serve, he embarked on combat missions in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria—each tour building strength but also leaving invisible scars.

The real challenge began once he was home: battling PTSD, fighting the stigma around mental health, and mourning the loss of 31 friends to suicide. Stewart refused to let these hardships define him. Instead, he chose to lead with empathy, openly share his journey, and guide over 27 veterans and service members towards hope and recovery.

In “Unspoken Words,” Stewart’s powerful poetry collection, he channels his experience to speak for those who can’t. His mission: end the silence, break the stigma, and show that asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness.

**One suicide a day is one too many.**
