One of the most overlooked challenges of leaving the military is the lack of a transition buffer.

You don’t submit a 2-week notice and move into another role. You’re given an ETS date, and after that, you are either employed or unemployed.

That reality creates a lot of pressure for many service members.

One thing I’ve learned (and what I share with transitioning service members) is this:

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹.

Put yourself out there. Apply. Network. Explore.

Don’t wait until the last minute.
