Army Veteran Sumeya Gibril’s incredible journey is a story of bravery, perseverance, and purposeful action. After overcoming childhood trauma and domestic violence before immigrating to the United States, Sumeya was inspired to launch the Rise Above, Be Relentless Foundation. Her nonprofit is dedicated to empowering military sexual trauma survivors through comprehensive healing, mentorship, and unwavering support.

Rise Above, Be Relentless operates on two fundamental beliefs: “Sustenance comes from the creator, not people,” and “Embrace the challenge”—reminding survivors that even in adversity, they possess the inner strength to heal and move forward.

The foundation is committed to serving those ready to actively participate in their own healing journey. Through a careful and empathetic vetting process, Rise Above, Be Relentless ensures support goes to those truly in need, preserving integrity and trust throughout.
