Sumeya Gibril’s story is one of extraordinary resilience. Having endured unimaginable trauma as a child and later serving in the Army, she has transformed her pain into a powerful mission. As founder of Rise Above, Be Relentless Foundation, Sumeya champions survivors of military sexual trauma—guiding warriors to reclaim their lives through healing, mentorship, and unwavering support.

After watching military sexual assault victims be blamed while offenders went unpunished, Sumeya stood up and founded a nonprofit that truly makes a difference: providing civilian legal advocates for active duty women, offering vital mental health services, and granting financial support to domestic violence survivors. Her core message—“Sustenance comes from the creator, not people”—urges survivors to embrace challenges and realize their inner strength.

Rise Above, Be Relentless is not just an organization—it’s a movement for those determined to rise above adversity. Every survivor’s experience is honored, every story is vetted, building a foundation of trust and credibility. Here, transformation replaces victimhood.
