Army Veteran Sumeya Gibril's path wasn’t easy: she overcame severe challenges, surviving sexual abuse and domestic violence from the age of 6 to 11 before making her way to America. During her military service, she witnessed the painful truth—survivors of sexual assault were often blamed, while offenders walked free.

Refusing to stand by, Sumeya launched the Rise Above, Be Relentless Foundation—a nonprofit committed to helping military sexual trauma survivors heal, grow, and rise above their circumstances.

What the Foundation Offers:
• Access to civilian attorneys for active-duty women seeking justice
• Survivor-focused mental health resources
• Financial aid for those fleeing domestic violence

Core Values:
• “Sustenance comes from the creator, not people”—reminding survivors to discover strength within and above
• “Embrace the challenge”—motivating survivors to confront difficulties and reclaim autonomy

Every survivor’s journey is honored, with detailed and empathetic claim reviews that ensure fairness and support for those ready to move forward.
