One of the biggest challenges during a civilian job search is knowing how to explain (with confidence) what you've actually done.

Something that's helped me is the STAR technique: Situation, Task, Action, Result.

You're basically telling a story... here's what happened, here's what I needed to do, here's what I did, and here's what happened because of it.
