STAY TUNED * STAY FOCUSED * STAY MOTIVATED

This is a combination of videos and pictures from my Operation Iraqi Freedom deployment in 2004-2005. I served with the 25th ID as a Platoon Leader for a transportation platoon. As a brand new 2nd Lieutenant, this was my first leadership position. I achieved, I failed, we survived together, but we all grew.

From that military leadership position, I learned in one year, what many don't experience in a life time. Note: The part at approximately 2 mins, the footage is of an Iraq insurgent group in the planning process of the dining facility bombing that took place the day I arrived in country, on base. On that day, over 70 were wounded and 14 Soldiers were killed. You can read about that terrible day here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Forward_Operating_Base_Marez_bombing

I am thankful for the experiences, yet I am also torn to simply gel to be and think as every 98% American who has never deployed, or served- Just to fit in.

I hope you enjoy the videos. It has taken me 15 years to open up about this part of my life, so thank you for stopping by! Please "Like" and subscribe! Comment below! Howzithapa Out!
